About

I earned my Ph.D. in biology using simulation models of evolution and development to explore fundamental questions in evolutionary biology. I am currently a professor of biology using the games and simulations shown on this site in my classes.

Before designing educational games and simulations, I was a member of the Boardgamers of Greater Akron Design and Prototype Committee. Our group playtested and critiqued the gameplay of each other’s game designs.

As a graduate student, the biology department recognized my dedication to undergraduate education by awarding me the department’s Graduate Teaching Award. The following year my commitment was acknowledged at the university level when I was granted the Graduate Dean’s Instructional Excellence Award.
